Many students had never had the opportunity to speak in front of a large audience with their voices clearly heard, and this technology completely transformed their classroom and school experiences. By amplifying their voices during assemblies, STEM showcases, and cultural events, the microphone allowed them to share their ideas, discoveries, and projects with clarity and authority.\r\n\r\nThe technology helped students learn by giving them a tool to practice professional communication and leadership skills. Presenting their research in microbiology, coding, robotics, and environmental projects required them to organize ideas, explain complex concepts, and respond to questions from peers and teachers. With the microphone, they could focus on the content of their presentations without worrying about being heard, which increased both their confidence and their willingness to take risks and try new approaches.\r\n\r\nStudents were particularly excited by how professional it made their presentations feel. They loved feeling like \"real scientists and engineers\" when speaking to an audience. The microphone became a symbol of their growth, showing them that their voices mattered and that their ideas were valued. For many students, this was the first time they had the chance to present their work to a large group, and the excitement and pride were evident in their enthusiasm and energy.\r\n\r\nSome students who had previously been shy or hesitant to speak in front of others warmed especially to the microphone. One student, who rarely spoke in class, volunteered to lead a demonstration on renewable energy. Another student, new to the school, used it to present a robotics project to the whole grade. Both students not only shared their knowledge but also inspired their classmates to participate more actively. The technology gave them the confidence to step into leadership roles, express themselves, and feel recognized for their talents.","fullyFundedDate":1757550390542,"projectUrl":"project/wireless-microphone-for-equity-express/9403667/","projectTitle":"Wireless Microphone for Equity & Expression","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. PINEDA","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/539163"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61795","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":417,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":97,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"21.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":25.0,"schoolId":61795,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Canyon Day Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Canyon Day Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/whiteriver-unified-school-district-20/canyon-day-junior-high-school/61795"}
