The hot glue gun and glue sticks have made it easier for my paraprofessionals and I to hang up curriculum materials, create projects, and showcase student work. \r\nItems that have helped provide for my students' sensory needs include the pressure vest, the chewy necklaces, the weighted caterpillar, and the kneedough squeezy cube. My students have learned to rely on and ask for these items when they become upset and dysregulated. The pressure vest in particular has helped with one of my students who is non-verbal. He is unable to express verbally and communicate when he is feeling upset or frustrated. This often leads to him becoming dysregulated and extremely emotional. In these times, we offer the pressure vest and he always wants it! You can see a noticeable difference when it is on him!
