The kids are able to choose between four donut cushions, six wobble cushions, two peanut chairs, and 2 sets of wobble chair feet. These items are working along with wobble chairs and kick bands already in place in my classroom. The kids love changing it up with their seating and are great about sharing the resources with each other. The kids are also learning to understand how we each get what we need to be successful, and maybe certain students need items more than others. \r\n\r\nAgain thank you for your generosity to our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1756186173377,"projectUrl":"project/scherers-seats/9646808/","projectTitle":"Scherer’s Seats","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Scherer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8365157_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745626154426","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8365157"},{"teacherId":9992374,"projectId":9238180,"letterContent":"Without your generous literature contribution to supply my classroom library, These shelves would be incredibly barren and empty. They absolutely love when I give them free time to read independently and often complain when I do not give them enough time to read. \r\n\r\nStudents who are motivated to read are motivated to learn and the love of reading is such a precious gift. Your donation to my classroom has allowed me to maintain a diverse range of books that act as widows, mirrors, and doors for my students. It is so inspiring and fulfilling to see their passion for reading grow so much even in just the first week of school. Within this first week of school, I have seen so many positive impacts of flexible seating on my class of twenty seven 9 year old's! It keeps them focused on the task at hand and motivates them to work hard and follow classroom procedures and expectations. Allowing them to use flexible seating also gives me peace of mind. I know it is the healthier seating option so I know by allowing and encouraging flexible seating, I'm doing what is best for students! \r\n\r\nOne student specifically struggles to remain in their chair all day long. Often in class this student reminds me to open up \"work around the room\" for partner and independent work and I have seen this make a huge difference in their overall mood and work ethic. Allowing them to work around the room and sit flexibly has been a simple hack to help keep them on track and engaged. It also benefits me because this way I do not have to constantly remind them to stay seated or stay in their area. This student just does it on their own now knowing that I will allow the entire class to work around the room as much as possible. \r\n\r\nBeing fortunate enough to have received your donation in my first year of teaching has empowered me to put my studies into practice and I am truly finding that, in this case, it works! Thank you so very much for the impact you have on my ability to reach my students and help them achieve their goals. I could never have done it without your support.","fullyFundedDate":1746786417603,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/9238151/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pomerleau","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9992374"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32375","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":722,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":15,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":56,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":60.5,"schoolId":32375,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ocotillo Ridge Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ocotillo Ridge Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/vail-school-district/ocotillo-ridge-elementary-school/32375"}
