The tools and blankets I was able to purchase help to give students a sense of home in the classroom. They have performed all around the district, competed in competitions, auditioned for various high school ensembles, and grown a strong love of music.\r\n\r\nThe materials I received from \"Jazz and Improvisation\" have gone to immediate use, educating my top ensemble about the rich history of the genre. I am excited to announce that we will be premiering our first ever jazz performance at our final concert this year. The students have responded so well to this music and I have learned so much about their skill level, especially those who play in our rhythm section.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your contributions to the music program at my school. My students might be new to their instruments but they are pros when it comes to conserving their reeds and strings due to shortages in supply. Thanks to this wonderful campaign, my students feel confident to make mistakes and take more musical risks than ever before! \r\n\r\nTo teach my students what it takes to maintain a musicians budget, they have learned how to get the most out of their materials by tracking each date they receive a new reed, and making efforts to properly handle it when putting their instrument together and away each day. Students are expected to extend the life of their reeds until a specific calendar date to better prepare for when they become responsible for purchasing those items. \r\n\r\nBefore this campaign started, my students new that a broken string or reed could mean that they could not perform at their best for days or even weeks until a new one was available. This donation has also given them reassurance that they can still make music.","fullyFundedDate":1728949188327,"projectUrl":"project/managing-music-and-money/8871759/","projectTitle":"Managing Music and Money!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ramirez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8937344_orig.jpg?crop=2240,2240,x293,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1674513963455","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-daniel-ramirez"},{"teacherId":8937344,"projectId":8678424,"letterContent":"At the beginning of the school year, I posted a project that I thought included the most important equipment my students could use to better grow and musicians and and as an ensemble. This donation has provided my students with many opportunities to reflect on their learning, become better listeners of music, and learn how to operate a professional camera.\r\n\r\nThis project is exciting for my students because although it is great to go back and reflect on their performances, this donation also allows them to keep a record of their experience in my class for many years to come.
