Your contribution has helped our students learn about current events, why the news matters, and using their voices to amplify what they think is important. \r\n\r\nOur students have used our microphones every week for a new news story. Middle school students can be very shy, but they have risen to the challenge through their writing. And now, poor audio quality from computer mics and iPad mics is no longer an obstacle. We showcase a few news stories every week to the entire school via Zoom during weekly announcements. And I have had the privilege of seeing my students learn they can do intimidating things. My favorite thing I've been able to see is how so many students are given the chance to shine and show their unique perspectives and personalities. \r\n\r\nOur students, through pride in their work and the support of effective technology, have had the freedom to be curious about journalism and the news. They find it interesting! Such a thing wouldn't be happening if they felt their work was poor quality.
