We made 16 new Colima headpieces and 18 Jalisco headpieces!\r\n\r\nThe students were excited that we would finally be able to have head pieces made for the correct region! They were used to having to use the same ones over and over, and I could see it really made a difference to them being able to express themselves correctly!\r\n\r\nRight now we are finishing learning our sets for our winter recital. My students love gathering with their Spanish copies of Charlotte's Web. We take turns reading aloud, talk about the characters, and share predictions about what might happen next. During reading time, you can see students smiling, helping each other with new words, and connecting the story to their own friendships and experiences. The room feels calm but full of energy — everyone is focused, listening carefully, and truly enjoying being part of the story together.\r\n\r\nMany of my bilingual students are especially excited to read Charlotte's Web in Spanish. For some, it's the first time they've had their very own chapter book in their home language, and they feel so proud. Students who were shy about reading aloud now raise their hands eagerly to take a turn. They love discussing Charlotte's kindness and Wilbur's bravery, and often bring up the story even after reading time is over. These books have sparked a love for reading that's spreading through our classroom every day!","fullyFundedDate":1746785916283,"projectUrl":"project/connecting-through-story-charlottes-we/9312092/","projectTitle":"Connecting Through Story: Charlotte's Web en Español","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cortes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9075792_orig.jpg?crop=958,958,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1686788570672","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9075792"},{"teacherId":9075792,"projectId":7443070,"letterContent":"The donation of flexible seating has had a remarkable impact on my classroom, allowing my students to take ownership of their learning environment. With options like standing desks, wobble stools, and comfy seating areas, students now have the freedom to choose where they feel most comfortable and productive. This flexibility has helped them focus better, collaborate more effectively, and feel empowered to engage with the material in a way that suits their individual needs. No longer bound to traditional desk arrangements, they have more control over their space, which has boosted both their confidence and enthusiasm for learning.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, flexible seating has fostered a greater sense of community in our classroom. Students have the ability to move around and work in different configurations—whether independently or in small groups—creating a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere. The comfort and freedom to switch up their seating has contributed to improved participation and motivation. Overall, this donation has not only made our classroom more inviting but also supported my students' diverse learning styles, allowing them to thrive academically and socially.","fullyFundedDate":1687733897786,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-5th-graders/7443070/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for 5th Graders!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cortes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9075792_orig.jpg?crop=958,958,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1686788570672","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9075792"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63949","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":576,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":4,"percentLatinx":84,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":62.5,"schoolId":63949,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Roskruge Elementary Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Roskruge Elementary Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/tucson-unified-school-district/roskruge-bilingual-magnet-school/63949"}
