The books we received immediately sparked excitement and curiosity, especially among students who previously struggled to connect with reading. Having access to engaging, age-appropriate texts gave students the opportunity to see reading not just as an academic requirement, but as something enjoyable and personal. Many students began asking for recommendations, sharing books with peers, and showing genuine interest in stories and topics they could relate to.\r\n\r\nThese donated books also allowed me to provide consistent daily reading opportunities through bellwork and silent sustained reading. Because students now have materials readily available, they are able to practice reading every day without interruptions or limitations. This daily exposure has helped improve reading fluency, stamina, and confidence—especially for reluctant or struggling readers. Students who once avoided reading are now more willing to participate and take risks, knowing they have texts that match their interests and reading levels.\r\n\r\nOverall, this donation helped reignite a passion for reading in my classroom and opened the door for some students to discover that reading can be a source of entertainment, comfort, and growth. The books continue to support literacy development while fostering a positive reading culture where students feel motivated, capable, and excited to learn. Your generosity has truly made a difference in helping my students grow as readers.","fullyFundedDate":1762901398050,"projectUrl":"project/books-as-bold-as-my-8th-graders/9631191/","projectTitle":"Books as Bold as My 8th Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tieu-Mitchell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9869457_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753925560748","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9869457"},{"teacherId":2596005,"projectId":9634689,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom.
