One moment that stands out was during a reading lesson when a student who often struggles to focus quietly grabbed a snack, returned to their seat, and stayed engaged through the entire activity. Having food available removes a barrier that many of our students face and allows them to concentrate, participate, and feel safe asking for what they need.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the snack supplies, their reaction was immediate excitement and relief. Several students asked, \"Is this really for us?\" and \"Can we have one whenever we need it?\" Knowing that someone cared enough to provide for them made them feel seen and valued. Over time, the snacks have also helped build responsibility and trust, as students learn to take only what they need and look out for one another.\r\n\r\nBecause students are better able to focus and regulate themselves, we are now moving forward with deeper learning activities in class.
