They were telling other students about the incentives we have received for our students and our library! \r\nOur next step is to give back to our community and our school teachers for all they do for our school. But, student's were held accountable for their own behavior monitoring as well as their score tracking. They also have to have 2 group mates sign off on their prize sheet in order to receive it. \r\nMy students were excited to see the many prizes laid out. Students became highly motivated to do their best effort in the classroom. The students were mostly excited about the tiny squishy toys. The sports equipment has helped us a lot this season. This was my first year coaching softball, over the pass years our school was not successful in having a softball team. After sorting out the equipment, I noticed we did not have much of anything. With your help we were able to receive new bats, bag to carry our equipment when we traveled to opposing teams. \r\n\r\nMy players were so over excited and happy when I showed them how our donors helped us purchase new bats and bags for games. They especially loved the hot pink bat, which they named the barbie bat. We had no bats for our season. This got them more excited about the game, they loved going up to bat. They would organized our equipment at the dug out, it also made it easier to go from one place to another. \r\n\r\nOur players learned the basic's about softball where they are able to bat and catch. We want our softball to grow, and keep going through out the years. We were a team that did not know how to play to a team they could do double plays at the end of the season. Although we lost at the NAIC, we were happy that we ended the season with players who enjoyed the game and want to continue. Since we got it we have been able to successfully print many worksheets and projects of ours in the classroom. Our classroom was able to print our poster projects made by students to advertise 6th grade math to next year's students. It will be the first thing done for next school year is to have a gallery walk of the different posters. \r\n\r\nOn another note, our classroom has been filled with more colors! I was able to print classroom decor and labels for the upcoming school year! The printer has made our classroom assignments and environment more lively and outgoing. Thank you once again! Since the supplies have been donated my students have been thriving. There are no more run around for trying to find supplies, they have it all accessible in their individual pouches inside their classroom binders. The students are very fond of their colored pencils, highlighters, glue sticks, mechanical pencils, and etc. Once we got them and we placed them in pouches the students kept looking at the stack in the back of the room and questioned who the supplies were for. Once they received them their eyes lit up and were happy they got supplies that they can use. \r\n\r\nNow we are able to complete more project based learning activities in the classroom that required coloring, drawing, cutting, and gluing. My classroom will forever be grateful for the supplies that were given to them as now they can do projects that challenge their creativity. I have using these microscope since the day we got them! I used them specifically about the following standards. 7.L1U1.8 - I can obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to provide evidence that all living things are made of cells, cells come from existing cells, and cells are the basic structural and functional unit of all living things and 7.L1U1.9 - I can construct an explanation to demonstrate the relationship between major cell structures and cell functions (plant and animal). \r\nI have been teaching for five years as a science teacher and during the time, I never seen a fully functioning microscope in my classroom when I first started. I never knew about DonorsChoose until my fellow Math colleague/ co-worker brought the attention of putting a project out there. He told me that donors will read your need and will fully fund your project! The next day, I tried it and I was happy that my project was published! In addition, the reason I wanted microscopes for my classroom and students is because, this classroom I'm typing this thank you letter, in the lower cabinets I seen a microscope from the year of 1993! I was loss for words, I did not know that students in this specific grade level did not have a working microscope and I want to thank you for funding this projects with gratitude and from the bottom of my heart! My students were so happy to see the microscopes. But first we got familiar with the parts of it, for example the stage, coarse knob, fine knob, lens, etc. The next step for utilizing the awesome microscopes is getting ready for AASA, Arizona State Testing for middle school. I want to review parts of animal and plant cells using the microscope because as a school, we want to maintain being a B school or even becoming an A school. The cushions were a great addition to our classroom and provided an easy way to incorporate flexible seating into my classroom. The students enjoyed getting to use the cushions at their seats and on the floor. I noticed students bags were a bit more organized once I handed them each a folder to keep and use.
