It has made managing our school's cell phone policy much more accessible. The students are far more engaged in the lesson and not as easily distracted. It also is a break from the constant input of cell phones, which is good for their mental health.\r\n\r\nIn over 20 years of teaching, this device has been the easiest and quickest classroom management solution. As soon as it was installed, the issue of cell phones in the classroom was solved. I now have focused and engaged students through the lesson. As a result of the pandemic, students were profoundly attached to their cell phones and personal electronic devices, so it was challenging to get them to put cell phones away. This resulted in loss of learning and even disciplinary consequences. \r\n\r\nHowever, now that there is a safe place for cell phones to be locked away, I was able to modify classroom expectations. Students are much more personally responsible for the proper use of their personal devices. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, now that students are distraction free, they have deepened their focus on academics. Grades are increasing, and they are learning how to collaborate in more effective ways.\r\n\r\nLastly, other teachers are following suit, requesting cell phone lockers, and increasing learning in their classrooms.
