Your support helped us to purchase new soft bags for two cellos whose bags had broken, as well as an individual bass stand. These items have not only provided safety and protection for instruments that were previously lying on the floor exposed to the elements, but also have allowed two of my cello students to take their instruments home to practice.\r\n\r\nThe most heartwarming moment of this project was seeing the impact it had on my two cello students. Both had been so excited to take their instruments home and practice, but they could not because they did not have functioning cases to transport their instruments. They had been waiting patiently since school started in July. When the first cello bag arrived in October, I allowed the student who was going to be the recipient to open the package. The project photos for this project capture the utter joy of the moment. She was so excited to finally have her own cello bag, and she couldn't wait to take her cello home that day. She proudly packed it into the bag and put it over her shoulders, exclaiming \"I can't wait to show my family that I FINALLY have my own cello bag!\"\r\n\r\nSince the day they received the bags, both students have faithfully taken their cellos home every week. They have put in hours of practice that have helped them to significantly improve their musical abilities. None of this would have been possible without your support of this project. Thank you for your commitment to bringing the joy of music making to some very grateful and deserving students.","fullyFundedDate":1760693806667,"projectUrl":"project/taking-a-stand-for-instrument-safety/9626768/","projectTitle":"Taking a Stand for Instrument Safety!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cook","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4130609_orig.jpg?crop=1632,1632,x538,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1632202079776","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4130609"},{"teacherId":9507803,"projectId":9198437,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for your generous contribution to our students. They are excited to utilize the new materials, which will enhance their individual learning experiences. We sincerely appreciate your support. The students were thrilled to receive the new items and have begun using the task cards, which have been very well received. Their enthusiasm is evident, and they arrive at class each day eager to learn and participate. They often find traditional paper-and-pencil activities less engaging, and the new resources allow for more varied activities that promote collaboration and movement. The document camera that you helped to gift to our classroom last year has been indispensable. In the first two weeks of school, we have already used it for tasks as varied as practicing the musical alphabet to highlighting information that needs to be completed on orchestra registration forms. In the coming weeks and months, the doc cam will be a daily staple in our orchestra classes, helping students to improve their musical literacy and their playing technique.\r\n\r\nLast spring, we used the document camera daily. It was most useful for projecting images of sheet music for the pieces we were working on in class. It was SO helpful to be able to show the students exactly where to mark a fingering or bow marking in their music. We were also able to point to the notes together and practice reading the note names. In addition to sheet music, we found some other creative uses for the camera. I sometimes placed a violin or bow directly under the camera, and then demonstrated to the students exactly where they needed to place their fingers to play a specific note, or to hold the bow correctly. This benefitted not only visual learners, but ALL learners in our classroom. Having a close-up visual of exactly what their hands and fingers should look like helped many students to improve their technique.\r\n\r\nThe document camera has absolutely enhanced our learning in orchestra class, and we look forward to using it every day this year!","fullyFundedDate":1733422901687,"projectUrl":"project/musical-an-note-tators-help-us-impro/8983890/","projectTitle":"Musical An-\"Note\"-Tators - Help Us Improve Our Musical Literacy!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cook","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4130609_orig.jpg?crop=1632,1632,x538,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1632202079776","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4130609"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_58850","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":574,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":63,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":71,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"17.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.0,"schoolId":58850,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jefferson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jefferson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/mesa-public-schools/jefferson-elementary-school/58850"}
