The new wobble stools, and ergonomic chairs have fundamentally transformed our learning environment, directly addressing student needs for movement and comfort while drastically increasing engagement and focus.\r\n\r\nWe are actively using the flexible seating every day, allowing students to choose the best workspace for their bodies and the task at hand. Just last week, during our deep dive into a writing assignment, I observed a student who typically struggles with staying seated utilize a wobble stool. This subtle movement allowed them to remain attentive throughout the entire lesson, resulting in them completing a draft they were truly proud of. When the seating first arrived, the students were beyond excited! Their faces lit up, and they immediately wanted to test out all the options, instinctively choosing the right tools for their comfort. They now understand that choosing their seat is a privilege tied to self-regulation—a critical life skill your generosity has helped foster.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has done more than provide chairs; it has created an atmosphere of choice and comfort that promotes focused learning. Moving forward, the students' next steps are to utilize this dynamic environment to collaborate effectively on our upcoming math project. The seating will ensure they can comfortably work together and maintain stamina for these complex, sustained tasks. Thank you for investing in a space where every student can find the physical comfort they need to achieve their highest academic potential.","fullyFundedDate":1760997954454,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/9844412/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10305015"},{"teacherId":10305015,"projectId":9800758,"letterContent":"We are overjoyed to share the tremendous impact your generosity has had on our fifth-grade classroom! The math and reading intervention games you funded are now being used daily, transforming our dedicated intervention time into the most engaging part of the school day. These aren't just games; they are powerful tools for reinforcing foundational skills and building student confidence.\r\n\r\nWe are currently utilizing the Pop to Win Math Game and the Capture the Flag Reading Comprehension Game in small-group settings. For instance, in math, students who were struggling with multiplying Decimals are now confidently mastering the steps by competing in friendly game rounds, making abstract concepts concrete. A few weeks ago, when the games arrived, the students' reaction was incredible! They were eager to open the boxes and immediately wanted to know the rules. One student exclaimed, \"This is the first time I've ever asked to play a math game!\" This shift in attitude has been the greatest success—they are now actively choosing to practice.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has provided a critical, hands-on component to our intervention block, replacing worksheets with meaningful interaction. Moving forward, the next step for our students is to use the math games to help them transition their practiced skills into their next major project, multi-step word problems. Thank you for giving our students resources that empower them to learn through play, ensuring that targeted intervention is both fun and highly effective.","fullyFundedDate":1760750016727,"projectUrl":"project/ms-jones-classroom/9800758/","projectTitle":"Ms. Jones Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10305015"},{"teacherId":8380537,"projectId":9119197,"letterContent":"I am no longer at Crismon Elementary but my former student who has become a music educator is teaching at my former post. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the generous donation of school supplies, which included engaging games and valuable ELL books. You may be pleased to know that our students have truly embraced these additions to their learning environment. \r\n\r\nThe games have not only sparked their enthusiasm but have also made a significant impact on their reading abilities while providing an enjoyable and interactive experience. It's been wonderful to see them interacting with each other while learning, which has fostered a positive and collaborative atmosphere in our classroom. These games encourage students to engage with text in a playful context, fostering comprehension and vocabulary acquisition. By collaborating and competing in a lively atmosphere, learners are motivated to read more effectively, making the process both educational and entertaining. \r\n\r\nThe games include learning basic reading comprehension, vocabulary, inferencing, main idea, cause/effect, character traits, theme, summarizing, simile/metaphors, genre, compare and contrast, context clues, and point of view. It is fabulous to be able to pull out a game that matches our standard of the week and see the students actively engaged in practicing the skill in a fun way. \r\n\r\nA favorite game in the classroom is Main St Shopping which focuses on the main idea of short passages. Students read passages and select the main idea. If you get the answer correct you get to keep the card which is worth 10 dollars. With the money you get to purchase different items when you land on the specific store on the gameboard. For example if you land on the jewelry store you can buy different types of jewelry running from 20 to 40 dollars. The students really enjoy getting to buy the different items and are very motivated to focus and get the answers correct which provides excellent practice in a skill that is an important focus of fourth grade. \r\n\r\nThe ELL books you provided have been immensely beneficial in supporting our diverse learners. Many of them are making noticeable gains in their reading skills, thanks to the targeted resources that appeal to their interests and needs. The English for Everyone: beginners course and practice book contain valuable practice in vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The vocabulary lessons are great as they use images. These lessons include such topics as hobbies, the body, school, sports, animals, family, friends, the classroom, and their own room. They have engaging activities like crosswords, matching and reordering letters. The English for Everyone: English Grammar also helps to teach students valuable English skills and particular English skills that match our standards directly. These include verb tenses, modals, nouns, pronouns, adjectives, relative pronouns and prepositions. Many of these lessons can be modified to use for the entire classroom as well. \r\n\r\nA specific example of how the book helped students is with the skill of prepositions. This is a skill taught in fourth grade. The book has a glossary and pages devoted to prepositions of place, time, and space with pictures. This provided students with a resource to use when learning prepositions and was very helpful.\r\n \r\nYour kindness and commitment to enhancing our students' educational experience are truly appreciated. Thank you once again for your generous contribution, which has made a lasting difference in their lives!","fullyFundedDate":1725219061470,"projectUrl":"project/reading-center-extravaganza/8367693/","projectTitle":"Reading Center Extravaganza","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cullison","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8379658_orig.png?crop=1592,1592,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714758501026","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8379658"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_48501","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":395,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":46,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":33,"percentIndigenous":7,"percentLatinx":41,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.7,"schoolId":48501,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Crismon Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Crismon Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/mesa-public-schools/crismon-elementary-school/48501"}
