The Bobcat Reading Lab sees about 90 children every day, and every 5-6 weeks we pull data to see which children can most benefit from lab time for the next cycle. We have graduated over 50 children out of the lab this year alone, and it's our first year doing this at our school!\r\nAdditionally we have seen the data supporting time in the lab and students are making huge gains in their Oral Reading Fluency. The head phones are giving the children the ability to stay focused in the lab. Prior to having the head phones, some students would bring their personal ones, which were not noise canceling, but most would have nothing. Even as adults we had a hard time concentrating with the constant hum of children reading aloud, and computers reading aloud. With these noise canceling headphones our students are able to focus and stay locked in on what they are reading as there are significantly less distractions.\r\nOur school is a low income school, it would have been incredibly challenging to raise funds within our school community. Our reading team is so grateful to have headphones that are so sturdy and will be used to serve countless students over the years!
