The books that we have received along with the story telling kits will allow our students from Kindergarten all the way through High School to gain access to literature that they would not have had before. \r\n\r\nFurthermore, this project allows our teachers the availability to teach standards while using texts instead of having to use primarily worksheets that have had to be used throughout the past in our district. This will allow all of our students a better opportunity to learn and thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1739845364035,"projectUrl":"project/class-sets-of-books/9103846/","projectTitle":"Class Sets of Books","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Dollar","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6636246"},{"teacherId":9563510,"projectId":8441892,"letterContent":"The project was born to inspire and nurture students' creativity in writing with the provision of essential technology tools like printers, binding machines, laminating films and a laminator which we find not easily accessible in our own classrooms and for everyday use. However, through this intitiative, students were empowered to create, publish, and even present their own stories and literary works that foster their love for writing and self-expression that led to its extension to other grade level students who also shared a piece of themselves and now proudly own a spot in our four walls of the class as they hang their own outputs. \r\n\r\nUnleashing the Writer in Me not only allowed the students to have a tangible output of their self expression, but it also aimed to bridge the gap between imagination and publication that they can call as their own. The materials made a profound impact to the students as many students, who previously lacked the confidence in their writing abilities, found their voice through the initiative. Seeing their works professionally printed and bounded instilled a sense of pride and motivation to continue writing as they also look forward to presenting their works in our Dr. Seuss week. Since the project also encourages careful attention--the then \"carefree students\" who wouldn't bother to pay attention to details have put effort in putting their thoughts and concepts into actual lay out and writing. Although some stick to their own self expression of crafting a black and white pages, but it turned out good and that is the main point of the project in which their writing prowess will be unleased.","fullyFundedDate":1725571061555,"projectUrl":"project/unleash-the-writer-in-me/8441892/","projectTitle":"Unleash the Writer in Me","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Icel Jane Sotacio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9563510_orig.jpg?crop=450,450,x0,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717608273161","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9563510"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_58526","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":194,"numTeachers":9,"percentFrplEligible":80,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":100,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"21.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":72.2,"schoolId":58526,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Gila Bend High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Gila Bend High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/gila-bend-unified-school-district-24/gila-bend-high-school/58526"}
