Students who are not usually interested in books love listening when they are read with sound effects. These books also all have soundscapes available on Novel Effect. This means that there are sound effects that accompany the book when read out loud. The sound effects add another level of motivation for students to read. Students love to hear the stories at school and then check them out again to read with their families. \r\n\r\nOur students come from homes where education is not highly valued, so any time we can provide enticing opportunities for our students to read and learn, we must act on it. The clipboards and the wabble stools offer them the ability to move out of their standard chair and sit some other way or on the floor. The clipboard also allows for the children that can't see to get closer and take a closer look.
