They are completely obsessed with the puzzles, and it's been wonderful watching them work together, communicate, and problem-solve as a team to complete them. Students also love the flower STEM building activities and the board games, which encourage creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. These materials have helped turn Fun Friday into an opportunity for both social growth and skill-building.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, many of them weren't sure what the items were or how they worked. This led to a great class discussion where I explained each item and its purpose, and students eagerly asked questions. Their curiosity quickly turned into excitement once they realized how much fun the materials would be. Seeing their interest grow as they learned more about the resources made the experience even more rewarding.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using these materials to build teamwork, problem-solving skills, and perseverance. We plan to rotate the activities so all students have multiple opportunities to explore the puzzles, STEM building sets, and games in small groups. Thanks to our donors, students are learning that collaboration and perseverance can be fun, and these resources will continue to support positive classroom experiences moving forward.","fullyFundedDate":1765477458306,"projectUrl":"project/damico-project/9952596/","projectTitle":"Damico Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Damico","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10372771"},{"teacherId":10372771,"projectId":9943061,"letterContent":"We are using the new resources almost daily in our classroom, and they have quickly become student favorites. Students frequently ask to read the Dog Man books, National Geographic readers, and Who Would Win? books during independent reading time. These books have encouraged even reluctant readers to pick up a book and stay engaged. We've also begun using the Brain Quest cards to ask review questions, and students are completely obsessed with them. They love the challenge and excitement of answering questions while reinforcing skills we've been learning in class.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and genuine. They were especially thrilled to see the Harry Potter items, the variety of Who Would Win? books, and new materials we can use during Fun Friday. Many students couldn't wait to explore everything and kept asking when they would get a chance to use them. The energy in the room was contagious, and it was clear how meaningful these resources would be for both learning and motivation.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using these materials to strengthen their reading skills, build comprehension, and develop a love for learning. We plan to incorporate the books into small groups, independent reading, and discussion activities, while using the Brain Quest cards as a fun way to review and assess understanding. Thanks to our donors, students now have access to engaging resources that support both academic growth and joyful learning, and we're excited to keep building on this momentum.","fullyFundedDate":1765214479804,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-damico-project/9943061/","projectTitle":"Mrs. Damico Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Damico","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10372771"},{"teacherId":10372771,"projectId":9952456,"letterContent":"We have been using these items during Fun Friday, and they have been a huge hit with the students. The kids love playing new games that they have never seen before, and they are always excited to try something different. They especially enjoy working together on the puzzles, which has been a great way for them to practice teamwork, communication, and problem-solving while having fun.\r\n\r\nWhen we first received the items, most of the students didn't recognize the games we ordered. This opened the door for a great conversation where I explained that these were games I played when I was younger. That connection immediately grabbed their attention and made them even more excited to learn how to play. They were eager to ask questions and couldn't wait to get started.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using these games and puzzles to strengthen collaboration skills and build positive relationships with their classmates. We plan to rotate the games so everyone has a chance to try each one and learn new strategies. Thanks to our donors, students are experiencing joyful learning moments that bring generations together and create lasting classroom memories.","fullyFundedDate":1767982403379,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-damico/9952456/","projectTitle":"Mrs. Damico","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Damico","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10372771"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68941","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":363,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":24,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":92.9,"schoolId":68941,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Benchmark School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Benchmark School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/arizona-department-of-education/benchmark-school/68941"}
