My students were excited when they saw the materials and asked if they get to play them. You can imagine their excitement when I told them that we have a whole unit planned and they get to play them and write their own music! \r\n\r\nWe have used the Boomwhackers to learn about scales, reading music, and have even ventured into writing our own music that we performed. Students learned to work together to create an ensemble and practiced teamwork. The drum, chimes, and handbells are a favorite for a game we call poison rhythm, along with other musical games. Poison rhythm teaches the students to focus on rhythms and expands their aural skills. \r\n\r\nEach of the items we received has helped to create a more musical class. My students love learning to play these instruments and appreciate music more as they realize the joy they create when they engage with music. \r\n\r\nThank you for your contribution and dedication to music and for your investment in my students!","fullyFundedDate":1757382186194,"projectUrl":"project/general-music-hands-on-experience/9564507/","projectTitle":"General Music Hands on Experience!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Voelker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9879257_orig.png?crop=435,435,x20,y60&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756503327316","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9879257"},{"teacherId":9466960,"projectId":9135072,"letterContent":"The flag football team is loving their new resources. Thanks to you they all have matching green flag belts to wear in their game, a requirement of the league. This sport is still relatively new in our school district with this being the third year it was offered and just the first year our school has had their own team. You supplied the belts, a part of the girls uniform and a lot of first aid equipment. Both our JV and Varsity teams have their own first aid bag and supplies because of your generous contributions.\r\nNot only was it a huge blessing to have some of our required supplies donated by donors choose supporters but we also were blessed to receive training equipment like pop up cones and a target for our quarterbacks to practice with. The large Post-it easel pads and flip chart markers have become central tools for recording group insights and tracking our progress on reading projects. Library book dividers and sticky notes have empowered students to navigate the library with greater independence, helping them find and remember new favorite books. The reading comprehension cubes have sparked lively conversations, encouraging students to ask thoughtful questions and engage deeply with texts.
