Breakfast and lunch are provided but getting through the day with snacks has been a great help and has helped the to focus.\r\n My students were shocked when they saw all of the great snack choices that showed up in the mailroom. Their eyes grew and their stomachs rumbled and each of them received snacks on a regular basis for months.\r\n I plan on posting another project for snacks to help us get through the end of the year and possibly for summer school. With the new PPE, lab equipment, and forensic science kits, my students can safely do hands-on experiments with confidence, curiosity, and excitement.\r\n\r\nOne of our most important projects so far has been a forensic investigation lab where students acted as \"crime scene scientists.\" Students used fingerprinting tools and evidence collection materials to gather prints, look at samples, write down their observations, and put together a case using real scientific reasoning.\r\n\r\nIt wasn't just the fun of it that made this experience powerful. It was seeing students use the same skills that real forensic scientists use, like careful measurement, attention to detail, observation, and logical thinking. Like professionals, students were talking about evidence, arguing about conclusions, and defending their reasoning.\r\n\r\nStudents reacted right away when they saw the lab goggles, gloves, and forensic kits: \"Wait... we get to use real things? So beast! \" That moment was all that mattered.\r\n\r\nA lot of my students have never used real lab tools before. Seeing the materials made science seem more real, important, and fun. Students who usually don't say much were suddenly asking questions, volunteering, and leaning in. The PPE made students feel like they were in a real lab, and that sense of being trusted with real science made a big difference.\r\n\r\nThank you very much! Your gift did more than buy supplies; it gave students a safe, real, and inspiring way to learn. You helped make the kind of classroom where kids can find out what they can do and where science is something they can touch, test, and believe in.","fullyFundedDate":1757541203857,"projectUrl":"project/lab-ready-donate-safety-science-tools/9526750/","projectTitle":"Lab Ready: Donate Safety & Science Tools for Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mary Myra","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10107578_orig.jpg?crop=1401,1401,x372,y1118&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754094323774","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10107578"},{"teacherId":1841665,"projectId":9846754,"letterContent":"My students in 5th an 6th grade have loved having the new supplies for the classroom and are utilizing them on a daily basis. \r\n Unfortunately, no school supplies were ordered by the previous administrator so having these available has made a tremendous impact to our classroom and ability to work on a daily basis.
