These books have already had a powerful impact on my students. With every page they turn, they're not just reading stories—they're building key literacy skills. For many, these are challenging concepts, but the engaging and diverse texts you've helped provide make these lessons come alive in ways that feel exciting and relevant.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading isn't just a quiet activity, it's an active, shared experience. Students read independently and as a whole class, where students discuss the story, make connections to their own lives, and challenge each other's thinking by making predictions. We've seen some incredible discussions spark from these new books—questions about identity, fairness, and perseverance. One student who rarely spoke during class has become a confident voice in our conversations, passionately sharing her insights on the book we were reading aloud. Another student who used to say he \"wasn't a reader\" now dives right into the worlds that are created in these books and doesn't want reading time to end.\r\n\r\nThese stories are just a few examples of the difference your support has made. The books you've helped provide are not only teaching my students how to be better readers, but also how to be more thoughtful, empathetic, and curious individuals. Thank you for investing in their growth, you've truly made a lasting impact.","fullyFundedDate":1749746050556,"projectUrl":"project/3rd-grade-battle-of-the-books/9353767/","projectTitle":"3rd Grade Battle of the Books","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rankin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9229953_orig.png?crop=1058,1058,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747549846348","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9229953"},{"teacherId":9784745,"projectId":9007550,"letterContent":"It is with immense joy witnessing my students engaged with the task cards during small group and whole group lessons. In fact, they were the ones who unboxed the package. They wanted to read the books right away even though I told them to wait because I need to put stickers on the books for identification, that those books belong to them and to Room 16. \r\n They read the books everyday during our silent reading and every time they finish their tasks, they grab them and read.\r\n In addition, I also used the books as my resource for my teaching learning instruction. One of the books that you donated ( A Kid's Guide to Alaska) talks about a brief history of Alaska. I used this resource when I taught about chronological order of historical texts. The said texts helped the kids to master the skills in sequencing and learned their history as well. I also used the books as my reference when I read aloud and they enjoyed listening and knowing more about their culture. \r\n Truly, your donation definitely impacted the kids learning and as they read, they'll become leaders of tomorrow!","fullyFundedDate":1730733517939,"projectUrl":"project/today-a-reader-tomorrow-a-leader/8841995/","projectTitle":"Today a Reader.
