The flexible seating you helped fund has truly transformed our learning environment. My students are now able to choose seating that helps them focus and feel comfortable—whether it's sitting on the floor with a cushion, using a wobble stool, or working in a small group at a lower table. This freedom of choice has increased their engagement and motivation, allowing them to take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nDuring whole group lessons, the new seating has made a noticeable difference. Students are more attentive and collaborative, and transitions between activities are smoother. The flexible setup encourages active participation, better posture, and positive classroom behavior. They are more interested in picking up books and are always asking to be read to in their free time. \r\nI have noticed a change in their interest when it comes to reading. A lot of the students have brought an open book to me to show me something they've learned about in the book and want to share their knowledge. It is really fun seeing the Kindergartners so excited about books and reading.","fullyFundedDate":1736172979389,"projectUrl":"project/focus-books-that-align-with-our-reading/8767854/","projectTitle":"Focus Books That Align With Our Reading Curriculum","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7163711"},{"teacherId":9157423,"projectId":9015536,"letterContent":"My students are over the moon with the new 3d printing supplies. They love watching as the designs take shape in our classroom 3d printer, and more than that, they love playing with the different fidgets and items that the printer can make. They were excited to have new filament (the plastic color cording that makes the 3d designs) because they could make their 3d creations in more than one color. \r\n\r\nOn Thursdays after school I work with a group of students who use the program Tinkercad to create their own three-dimensional objects, usually an animal of some sort. These students have really enjoyed the project and have really become quite the little designers. Some of the new colors are metallic so the students wanted to come up with a new design so they started designing and having me print \"Stanley\" cups, complete with straws. \r\n\r\nThese supplies will go a long way for this culture club and for the rest of my students. The supplies will last a while and bring joy to all of the students who get to experience making the 3d projects. I love to see their faces when they are creating something of their own, but there is nothing like 3d printing their design and handing it to them. When they see the 3d version of what they designed their minds are always blown... and I am constantly blown away by their amazing creativity.","fullyFundedDate":1734919587721,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-for-indigenous-fab-lab-classroo/9015536/","projectTitle":"Supplies for Indigenous Fab Lab Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kate","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9157423_orig.jpg?crop=1836,1836,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1691214948298","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9157423"},{"teacherId":9157423,"projectId":8844880,"letterContent":"I wish you could see all the beautiful books that have arrived in my classroom! My kids are so excited to see the brand new books, and to see books that represent themselves and their own indigenous cultures. \r\n\r\nWe are currently reading an indigenous story called Little Whale. This story is about a ten year old boy and his father and their journey on one of the last Tlingit war canoes. Many of my students can relate to the boy's feelings and thought processes because they are at the same age as he is in the book. \r\n\r\nI try to make reading books fun with the students. First we'll read a chapter and then I have students come up with questions that we can then use to play a Blooket digital game to test their comprehension of the story. It's been wonderful to see how students are connecting to the book because they see bits and pieces of their home culture in the book. Their joy and pride is palpable. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift.
