Students have loved having a space where they can step outside of the traditional classroom walls and learn in the fresh air. Whether we're observing local plants and wildlife, sketching scientific diagrams, or working in small groups on lab activities, the outdoor classroom has made our lessons more engaging and dynamic.\r\n\r\nThe first time students saw the space fully set up, they were thrilled; many said it made learning feel \"fun\" and \"less like a typical school day.\" I've noticed that students are more focused, collaborative, and curious when we're outside, which has been especially meaningful for daily work and project-based activities.\r\n\r\nOne project that is really about to come to life is our upcoming study of ecosystems later this semester! Students will have the opportunity to directly observe local plants and insects, collect data, and discuss their findings in real time, all while surrounded by the natural environment we are studying. This hands-on experience will bring the concepts we learn in class to life in a way that simply isn't possible indoors.\r\n\r\nAs the semester continues, we'll also be using the outdoor classroom to explore topics like plant biology, environmental science, and even simple data collection for experiments. Your contribution has created a space where students can connect with nature, engage deeply with biology, and enjoy learning in a whole new way. We are so grateful for your generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1740631012858,"projectUrl":"project/omhs-outdoor-classroom/9129648/","projectTitle":"OMHS Outdoor Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. DiPiazza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6028891_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740497738049","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dipiazzachromebooks"},{"teacherId":3379541,"projectId":9667609,"letterContent":"Thank you for your contribution that helped us purchase our JBL Party Box. These are the kinds of moments that bring learning to life and create lasting memories.
