The dictionaries and thesauruses that you so graciously donated to my students and the learning environment provided my students the opportunity to explore, process, and learn different terms and strategies they can utilize to increase their vocabulary.\r\n\r\nExploring the words and terms allowed my students to become engaged and to ask questions. Most of my students did not know how to utilize a dictionary. Therefore, I had to teach them about the keywords located at the top and how the chronological order of words is imperative. \r\n\r\nIn addition, it is so important that students learn to process the information that they receive. Many students don't know or don't take the time to process information, which causes students to miss out on important strategies that can provide them with aid in increasing their vocabulary.","fullyFundedDate":1737415253721,"projectUrl":"project/vocabulary-study-abroad/9028600/","projectTitle":"Vocabulary Study Abroad","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Knight","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3869466_orig.jpg?crop=157,157,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727116556261","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3869466"},{"teacherId":3869466,"projectId":9014013,"letterContent":"My students and I have utilized the new resources by creating various landforms developed through weathering and erosion. They learn a lot more about the standards and skills when it is very engaging. \r\n\r\nNext steps for my students are to continue the learning process by providing them with hands-on activities, engaging their minds and bodies through various PBL projects, and making certain that they are learning something every day when they enter the learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1735504847431,"projectUrl":"project/creating-and-discovering-landforms/9014013/","projectTitle":"Creating and Discovering Landforms","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Knight","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3869466_orig.jpg?crop=157,157,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727116556261","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3869466"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17225","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":300,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":89,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":58.1,"schoolId":17225,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Johnson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Johnson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/montgomery-public-schools/johnson-elementary-school/17225"}
