That indicated to me, that the goggles are comfortable and enough that they will continue to wear them without struggle for each of our investigations, which makes for a smoother running class period.\r\n\r\nMy students loved the lab goggles. We measured the dimensions, mass, volume, and density of the geodes first. Then, we donned our safety goggles and placed rags on the table (for protection) and got straight to hammer and chiseling. Each of my earth science students broke their geode and got to keep it. The news spread fast and many other students and teachers wanted to look and see what we were doing during 7th period. It is not often that I hear from my students that they had fun in earth science. \r\n\r\n\r\nMy students were so surprised to see all of the supplies. It piqued their interest, in which then they wondered how and who donated the supplies to us. My students were pleasantly surprised to the person who donated to their classroom and that he had roots here in Mobile just like them.\r\n\r\nMy next steps for these supplies is to continue building up the earth science classroom with more hands-on experiences to show students earth science concepts as much as we lecture about earth science concepts. As far as I know, I should continue teaching earth science and will maintain the supplies for more classes.","fullyFundedDate":1745496348185,"projectUrl":"project/cracking-the-code-geode-exploration/9253489/","projectTitle":"Cracking the Code: Geode Exploration","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Peralta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5711811_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1538071812875","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5711811"},{"teacherId":9834804,"projectId":9026384,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my classroom. Your donation has made a significant impact on my students by simply providing them with materials to perform labs and do daily schoolwork. Most of my students come from rough communities and have had to face some sort of adversity already in their lives. Because of this, most of them have no interest in science or what has to happen to develop deeper understanding of a topic. \r\nThis was a great opportunity to allow them to perform a traditional frog dissection safely in the classroom. Students were able to do something out of their comfort zone that helped them to see how scientists have to take a different approach to make all of the discoveries and advancements that have been made. But most importantly, they were able to do this safely and were able to have and keep clean materials. The students were very interested in the dissection and asked to perform more. A lot of work went into this lab and it would not have been possible without you. \r\nThe posters have been hung around the classroom so that students can view them and reference them as needed. They have also taken advantage of the pencils and paper purchased with your donation. We are looking forward to being able to perform more labs, but in the meantime we are using the cleaning supplies to keep our lab hygenic. We couldn't be more grateful and we hope that more people continue to help people like us.","fullyFundedDate":1739467818861,"projectUrl":"project/from-hazard-to-hygiene-building-a-safe/9026384/","projectTitle":"From Hazard to Hygiene: Building a Safe and Clean Lab","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ericka Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9834804_orig.jpg?crop=2277,2277,x776,y1384&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1735846252368","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9834804"},{"teacherId":3529380,"projectId":8835264,"letterContent":"On behalf of my students and our school community, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of clear backpacks.
