I know the importance of reading, especially at the age of birth to five. Reading to my students gives them a wealth of knowledge about books. They get to hold the books as well, and this allows them to learn how to handle the books with care and use them correctly.\r\nThe students learn about the cover, back, spine, and title page of the books through read-aloud. They learn about the author and the illustrations during whole group read-aloud and discussions on the books. \r\nChoosing books from many different cultures and backgrounds allows the students to see life outside of just their own cultures. \r\nSo, I thank everyone who helped out with this project and allowed my students to see the importance of reading daily.","fullyFundedDate":1775752624083,"projectUrl":"project/pre-k-lets-have-fun-reading/10143081/","projectTitle":"Pre-k Let's Have Fun Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Keith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9077165_orig.jpg?crop=1848,1848,x0,y794&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1687005445431","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9077165"},{"teacherId":8556840,"projectId":9687227,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping bring this project to life. My students were incredibly excited when the materials arrived. As soon as we opened the boxes, they immediately began exploring the bug kits and specimen stones, carefully examining each one and trying to identify what they were seeing. The chart paper has already been used during our investigations to record observations, ask questions, and share discoveries with classmates. One of my favorite moments was watching students gather around the specimens and debate whether a bug was a beetle or another type of insect—exactly the kind of curiosity and scientific thinking we hope to inspire.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped transform our classroom into a space where students can truly experience science. The gardening kit has allowed students to plant seeds and observe how living things grow and change, while the LEGO Bonsai and The Together Tree book helped us connect science with creativity and storytelling. Students have also begun using the mini wire cutters during STEM challenges to safely build and test their designs. It has been wonderful to see them working collaboratively, thinking like engineers and scientists as they experiment, record results, and improve their ideas.\r\n\r\nAs a next step, we are planning to visit Monte Sano State Park with the 5th graders so students can see the ecosystems and biodiversity we have been studying in real life. The materials you provided are helping prepare them to observe the environment like young scientists—looking closely at plants, insects, and habitats and asking thoughtful questions about the natural world. Thank you for making these meaningful learning experiences possible for my students. Your generosity has helped spark curiosity, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the world around them.","fullyFundedDate":1764725351173,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-science-in-gate-at-camp-ridgecr/9687227/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Science in GATE at Camp Ridgecrest","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Aguilar","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8556840_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y937&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673018349472","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8556840"},{"teacherId":9077165,"projectId":9906534,"letterContent":"This was a great chance for my young students to listen to the books they were looking at each day. When I set up the new listening center, the students were so excited to be able to choose a book, look through the pages, and know exactly what the story was saying. The smiles on their faces just lit up the classroom. But, adding to that, when I asked them about the stories they listen to, they were able to recall more of the story with every little help from me. This gave them independence when it came to reading and understanding the books more. Being able to give them this independence to love reading even more was a true blessing, and both my students and I thank you for that.","fullyFundedDate":1767325602611,"projectUrl":"project/lets-listen-together/9906534/","projectTitle":"Let's Listen Together!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Keith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9077165_orig.jpg?crop=1848,1848,x0,y794&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1687005445431","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9077165"},{"teacherId":9636268,"projectId":9237932,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the wonderful things you gave our classroom!
