For many of them, knowing that people outside our school cared enough to support their learning made them feel truly seen and valued. There were immediate smiles, gasps of delight, and a joyful buzz of energy as they gathered around to explore the new rewards, sensory tools, and books. They were eager to dive in right away and couldn't wait to start earning access to these wonderful items!\r\n\r\nThese resources are making a meaningful impact not just in our classroom, but across our entire school community. The new books have been added to our school-wide book vending machine, giving students an exciting, tangible reward to strive for as they hit their reading and behavioral goals. In our classroom, the incentive prizes are used daily alongside administration to recognize positive decision-making and academic milestones. Additionally, many of the sensory and calming tools are being integrated into our school counseling sessions, providing students with quiet, constructive outlets to regulate their emotions, manage stress, and stay focused throughout the day.\r\n\r\nBuilding on this momentum, our next step is to have students set long-term academic and personal growth goals for our upcoming unit. They will track their daily progress using individual goal sheets, taking greater ownership of their learning journey. As they meet these milestones, they look forward to visiting the book vending machine, working with our counselors, and celebrating their hard-earned rewards with classroom teachers and leadership.
