During small groups, manipulatives support differentiated instruction and allow students to move from concrete models to abstract thinking.\r\n\r\nIn reading, students use letter tiles and word-building manipulatives to practice phonics, spelling patterns, and word families. They build and change words to understand sounds, blend phonemes, and strengthen decoding skills.
