My students have enjoyed the garden. My students from last year who started the garden constantly ask to leave class to go work in the garden. The trellises work very well! Students are excited to go out and work every day. We are currently growing mini pumpkins to donate to our local Pre-K students. \r\n\r\nWe are still learning together. Some things have been successful--our pepper plants turned out awesome! Others things not so much. Did you know cucumbers turn orange and bloat up when they are not picked quickly? We know this now!\r\n\r\nWe are enjoying this so much. My students are learning skills that they will take with them as they grow older. I have delayed my impact letter hoping that I would have good news to share. This project, so far, has been an epic failure. The fish keep dying! We are going to continue trying, and hopefully will not have any more fish funerals this spring. \r\n\r\nOn a positive note, the kids and I have learned a few things that will harm fish, so we know not to do those things in the future. The first being the temperature of the water is very important...\r\n\r\nOur smaller hydroponic garden did well, and we were able to grow scallions. :-)\r\n\r\nThank you for giving to my classroom.
