We just finished our first project that was inspired by the artist Lorna Simpson's artwork. Each student had their portrait taken, then I printed them on our color printer. They used marker and paint to add patterns and details to create imaginative hair styles. The students really enjoyed the project, and having access to the printer was a game changer!\r\n\r\nI am looking forward to many more projects in the art room where we will use the printer. I am starting to teach Color theory and will use the printer to help student learning with color printed worksheets. The possibilities are really endless, and I can't wait to explore new and exciting art work with our new printer. \r\n\r\nFrom my students and myself, Thank you!","fullyFundedDate":1746785636488,"projectUrl":"project/much-needed-color-printer-for-art-classr/9052973/","projectTitle":"Much Needed Color Printer for Art Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kramer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9845937_orig.jpg?crop=790,791,x0,y116&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732381750682","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9845937"},{"teacherId":9845937,"projectId":8962935,"letterContent":"The students have benefited greatly from the supplies that were given by donors to the art classroom. For weeks after the first day, I was able to my students new additions to our classroom - and that is thanks to you.\r\n\r\nTeaching at this all girls school has been the highlight of my career. Being able to work with young girls of color as they begin their journey to the rest of their lives is an honor I try not to take for granted everyday. This honor has grown daily, especially because my students know that my classroom is a consistent safe space for them.\r\n\r\nFrom small additions to the classroom such as highlighters and markers, to the hygentic additions of much needed pads, to the big additions of a color printer and storage units, my girls walk into my room and know they can find whatever they need, even when they may not have my class at that exact moment. My past students have come back into my room and walk around in awe with the changes that have been made.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students, and with humble and sincere heart, I thank you. Thank you for providing my students with seemingly little pockets of joy. Thank you for showing my girls that they are valued.
