My students absolutely love the new wobble seats and laptop chairs. These have become instant favorites during small-group and independent work time. The flexible seating helps them stay focused and comfortable, especially my students who need to move a little to stay engaged. It's amazing to see how much longer they can concentrate when they have the choice to sit, rock, or stand while learning.\r\n\r\nWhen we first set up the bubble lamps and space projector, the excitement in the room was contagious! The special lighting creates a peaceful atmosphere that helps my students transition smoothly between activities and focus during reading and writing time. They often say it feels like a calm zone where their brains can relax and learn. Our new student mailboxes have also made a huge difference in organization. Students take pride in checking their mail and keeping track of their own materials.\r\n\r\nFor me, the standing rolling desk has been a game changer. I can easily move around the room to support students, monitor engagement, and join in small-group discussions without being tied to one spot. Our next big project is expanding our literacy centers, and these new resources make it easy to create flexible workspaces for collaboration and independent exploration.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my students a classroom where they can move, focus, and feel proud of their environment. The pop it ten frames and magnetic ten frames quickly became a favorite during math centers. We used them in small groups to practice counting, addition, and number sense, and I noticed students who often struggle with math were suddenly more engaged because the tools felt like games. The Elkonin boxes and word building centers also supported our literacy block, allowing students to break words into sounds and build new ones in a hands-on way.\r\n\r\nThe reactions when the boxes were first opened were priceless. My students' eyes lit up and several even cheered out loud. Many immediately wanted to try the pop its and cubes, and it was clear that having something tactile to work with sparked their motivation. These resources gave them opportunities to collaborate, problem solve, and practice new skills with excitement instead of frustration.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue using these materials in both math and literacy centers. My students are currently working on building stronger number sense to prepare for addition and subtraction, and the ten frames and linking cubes will help them visualize their work. In reading, we will keep using the word match games and Elkonin boxes to strengthen phonics and decoding skills. Thank you so much for giving my students tools that make learning fun and meaningful every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1746785977776,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-tiny-hands/9051235/","projectTitle":"Tools for Tiny Hands","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kenney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9892728_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y50&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737406557608","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9892728"},{"teacherId":9893780,"projectId":9056988,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has been transformed into a more joyful, organized, and engaging space for learning! When the materials arrived—books, snacks, Play-Doh, bean bags, crayons, and markers—my kindergarteners were absolutely thrilled. Their eyes lit up as we opened each box, and they immediately began imagining how we would use each item. The bean bags have quickly become a favorite spot for quiet reading time, giving students a cozy, calm place to enjoy our new books.\r\n\r\nThe Play-Doh has been especially helpful during fine motor skills practice and as a calming sensory activity. Students use it to form letters, build shapes, and even tell stories with their creations. The snacks have been a lifesaver too—helping fuel growing bodies and minds during long days of learning. With the crayons and markers, students are creating vibrant art projects and writing stories with confidence and pride. These simple tools have sparked creativity and independence in so many ways.\r\n\r\nWe're currently working on a \"My Favorite Things\" project, where students draw, write, and present their favorite book or activity in the classroom. These new materials have made it possible for every student to participate fully and feel proud of their work.
