Because of your generosity, my 25 students now have access to snacks, craft supplies, and toys that help make our classroom a welcoming and engaging place to learn. We use these materials every day in meaningful ways. The craft supplies have already been used during our creative projects, allowing students to design, build, and illustrate their ideas during writing and science activities. The toys and play materials are used during center time, where students practice collaboration, problem-solving, and imaginative play. The snacks have also been incredibly helpful, ensuring that students have the energy they need to stay focused and ready to learn throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate. Many of them were eager to explore the new supplies and couldn't wait to start using them. During our first craft activity with the new materials, students were proudly sharing their creations with classmates and talking about what they could make next. Moments like this remind me how meaningful these resources are for young learners and how much they appreciate having tools that allow them to express their creativity.\r\n\r\nThese materials will continue to support our classroom learning as we move forward with new projects and lessons. My students will be using the craft supplies for upcoming writing and art activities, where they will create visual pieces to accompany their stories and informational writing. During center rotations, the toys will continue to support hands-on learning and social skill development. Thanks to your support, my students have the resources they need to explore, create, and grow as learners. We are truly grateful for your generosity and for helping make our classroom such a special place.","fullyFundedDate":1772550510897,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-and-more/10114060/","projectTitle":"Snacks and More","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rathbun","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9635587"},{"teacherId":9656578,"projectId":9589385,"letterContent":"The generous donation of student seating, white boards, and graphing white boards has had a significant impact on student learning. With proper seating, students are more comfortable and able to focus, creating an environment that supports both individual concentration and collaborative group work. This flexible seating allows students to move about the room and work with various students. This creates more engagement during small group learning.\r\n\r\nThe addition of white boards allows for more interactive lessons, giving students opportunities to actively participate, demonstrate their understanding, and receive immediate feedback from teachers and other students. The graphing white boards, in particular, have enhanced instruction in math and science by helping students visualize complex equations and data, turning abstract concepts into concrete representations. Together, these resources have created a more engaging, inclusive, and hands-on learning environment, resulting in improved student confidence, deeper comprehension, and greater academic success.","fullyFundedDate":1757683138394,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-learning-equals-engagement/9589385/","projectTitle":"Flexible learning equals engagement","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Volpe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9656578_orig.jpg?crop=4284,4284,x723,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759668678577","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9656578"},{"teacherId":2991967,"projectId":8918785,"letterContent":"It takes people like you who believe enough in something greater than themselves to make the world a better place for everyone. My students and I can't thank you enough for being two of those people because it means so much more than words can express. \r\n I received the magnetic board that you purchased for me today, Tuesday, March 18, 2025. I had to return the first board because I was delivered a non-magnetic white board. Luckily, return shipping was free and I ended up getting a whiteboard that was a little cheaper than the original so I was able to also purchase 200 sheets of laminating paper as well as magnetic pieces. This project is so beneficial to my teaching. Prior to receiving this board, I had to write my learning goals on the board daily which took up too much of my time. Students need to see these visuals with their learning statements on them in order to commit them to memory. I read the learning goals at the beginning of each lesson to the students and they repeat them back to me. This really seems to help them focus on learning skills properly instead of getting the mindset that they are only in PE to play. I can easily swap out the magnetic sheets with the goals that align with the current PE units. \r\n My students noticed the board right away as well as many of the other teachers at my school. The gym is also used as the cafeteria and I often see students looking at the board during their lunch period. Although I just received the board today, I put it to immediate use. Even some teachers were asking how I was able to get a new whiteboard!!! There are so many activities that I will be able to do with this board! I frequently use visuals and do sorting activities with my students. It will be so easy to magnetize posters and visuals for health class on this board as well. \r\n In conclusion, I was pleasantly surprised and honored that this gift came from former Woodridge students. Again, thank you so much!!! This means so much to me and my students!!","fullyFundedDate":1735487575037,"projectUrl":"project/we-will-easel-y-remember-our-learning-go/8918785/","projectTitle":"We Will Easel-y Remember Our Learning Goals!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Spremullo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2991967"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_91494","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":257,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":11,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":48,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"12.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":91.2,"schoolId":91494,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Woodridge Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Woodridge Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/rhode-island/cranston-public-school-district/woodridge-elementary-school/91494"}
