The new materials have already made a big difference in our Pre-K classroom. My students light up each time they explore the textures, colors, and sounds of the sensory tools. One special moment was when a student who is usually hesitant to join group activities eagerly reached for the sensory bin and began engaging with peers—it was such a breakthrough!\r\n\r\nThese resources give my students safe and exciting ways to regulate their emotions, build fine motor skills, and focus during lessons. We are currently using them during circle time, transitions, and small group activities, and I can see the growth in their confidence and participation.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be incorporating the sensory items into our upcoming fall-themed projects, like exploring textures with leaves and pumpkins. Your gift has given my students opportunities to learn through play and discovery in ways that are meaningful to them, and I am so grateful for your kindness.","fullyFundedDate":1712282587695,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-corner/8228596/","projectTitle":"Sensory Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Turrisi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8543331_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1682679643085","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8543331"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12535","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":481,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":81,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":64.9,"schoolId":12535,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Woodland Forrest Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Woodland Forrest Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/tuscaloosa-city-school-district/woodland-forrest-elementary-school/12535"}
