My students were absolutely thrilled to see the complete Harry Potter collection and several Diary of a Wimpy Kid books waiting for them on our shelves. These series have already sparked a renewed excitement for reading in our room, and it has been wonderful to see so many students eagerly choosing books and talking about them with their classmates.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is more than just finishing a bookâit's about learning how to think critically, make connections, and develop a lifelong love of literature. The Harry Potter series is introducing students to rich vocabulary, character development, and themes of friendship and courage, while Diary of a Wimpy Kid encourages reluctant readers to jump in with its humor and relatable characters. These books provide opportunities for lessons on prediction, summarizing, and understanding character motivation, all while keeping students fully engaged.\r\n\r\nI have already seen students who were hesitant to pick up a book become excited to read every day. One student who previously struggled to finish a chapter book is now making steady progress through Harry Potter and sharing his favorite parts with the class. Another group of students has started their own \"Wimpy Kid club,\" trading books and laughing over Greg's adventures. These stories have not only strengthened their reading skills but also created a sense of community around books in our classroom.
