The excitement on their faces was priceless. We have been using a small stylus that has replaceable heads on them. Many students were constantly frustrated with these because they would rip or tear and sometimes would not work on the i-pads. These pencils give the opportunity to write nicer, there is no ripping, and they feel like an actual pencil in their hands. The headphones give them the opportunity to watch their videos and use their reading without distracting others. \r\n\r\nThe technology is used for our everyday classroom work. We have started to put half our work on the computer to complete and the other half still pencil and paper. The pencils allow the students to write on their work online and keep it neat and organized. In our school we have extra practice websites we use the headphones allow them a quiet space as well as the ability to use the features of the program without sound playing out loud. \r\n\r\nI cannot say that one student is more excited than the others. The new resources, including healthy snacks, guided journals, and classroom materials for mindful learning, are being used daily to support focus, engagement, and overall well-being. One memorable moment was during a group math activity: students who were usually restless were able to fully participate after enjoying a healthy snack and using their journals to set goals for the lesson. This combination of nourishment and reflection has helped students feel more ready to learn and more confident in tackling challenging tasks.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was palpable. They were thrilled to have access to resources that made learning feel both fun and supportive, from colorful journals for reflection to nutritious snacks that kept their energy up throughout the day. Students expressed gratitude and curiosity, often asking thoughtful questions about how the materials could help them focus and do their best work. This enthusiasm quickly translated into a more engaged and collaborative classroom environment, where students were eager to participate and help each other succeed.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students are building on this momentum with projects that integrate the resources into daily learning routines. For example, in our upcoming science unit, students will use their journals to track observations during experiments while enjoying brain-friendly snacks that keep them energized. The next steps include incorporating more mindfulness activities and collaborative challenges that connect well-being with academic growth. Thanks to the support from donors, our students are not only learning more effectively but are also developing habits that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1742944784087,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-minds-filling-hearts-encouragi/9104759/","projectTitle":"Fueling Minds, Filling Hearts: Encouraging Students with Care and Nourishment","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Glee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9843217_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752096422450","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9843217"},{"teacherId":9843217,"projectId":8954801,"letterContent":"\"Numbers in Action: Real-World Math for Everyday Classroom Solutions\" has had a powerful impact on how our students experience and understand math. The technology funded through this project allows students to connect abstract math concepts to real-life situations, such as budgeting, data analysis, and problem-solving they can relate to outside the classroom. Interactive digital tools give students immediate feedback, visual models, and opportunities to practice at their own pace. For many learners, especially those who struggled with traditional paper-and-pencil methods, this has made math more accessible, engaging, and meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about this new technology is how hands-on and relevant it feels. Instead of simply watching the teacher model a problem, students actively explore numbers through simulations, real-world scenarios, and collaborative activities. They enjoy seeing how math applies to everyday decisions, which increases their motivation and confidence. The instant feedback and interactive features make learning feel more like discovery than routine practice, and students are eager to try multiple strategies to solve problems.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially warmed to this technology, including those who were previously hesitant or lacked confidence in math. Visual learners benefit from graphs, models, and step-by-step supports, while independent learners appreciate being able to revisit lessons as needed. English language learners and students who need additional support have also shown growth, as the technology provides clear visuals and guided practice that reduce frustration. Overall, this project has helped students see themselves as capable problem-solvers and has transformed math into a subject they look forward to learning.","fullyFundedDate":1741435527066,"projectUrl":"project/numbers-in-action-real-world-math-for-e/8954801/","projectTitle":"Numbers in Action: Real-World Math for Everyday Classroom Solutions","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Glee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9843217_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752096422450","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9843217"},{"teacherId":9843182,"projectId":9029217,"letterContent":"Using tablet in the classroom has greatly improved and learning in several key ways.
