Although they can be reluctant to work in groups, it is how they gain the most knowledge and allow each other to express their opinions. By brainstorming and building off of each others ideas, students are able to broaden their own thinking, build on their own knowledge, and gain valuable insight that they might not have had while working independently.\r\nThe simple supplies in this project were exactly what we needed to allow this type of collaboration in our ELA classroom. One of the greatest ways that we could ensure that everyone was involved in collaboration was to make posters, which is what these supplies were used for. Every student was able to participate in a way that was either active or passive, which allowed even the most introverted student to have their voice heard. This also allowed students to provide a visual representation of their thoughts, which they could then present to the rest of the class and practice their speaking skills. The novels were a discussion point that some of these posters revolved around, and were paramount in our learning this year. I cannot thank you enough for providing this support to our classroom - the skills that our students learned through collaboration will carry with them through their future and beyond the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1727462968993,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-effective-collaboration/8571710/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Effective Collaboration in Middle School!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Greenberg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9234285_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718468983078","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9234285"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_109358","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":832,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":13,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":78,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"29.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.0,"schoolId":109358,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Windsor Charter Academy Middle and Early College High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Windsor Charter Academy Middle and Early College High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/weld-co-sd-re-4-windsor/windsor-charter-academy-middle-school/109358"}
