In our classroom, reading isn't just about turning pages, it's about building skills like making connections, asking questions, and finding meaning in what we read. These books have given us fresh opportunities to practice strategies like identifying the main idea, exploring character traits, and using context clues, all while enjoying stories that are engaging and fun.\r\nReading time has become one of our favorite parts of the day. I've noticed students eagerly reaching for these books during independent reading, and our discussions during small groups have grown richer because of them. One of my students, who used to hesitate picking up a book, now asks if we can read \"just one more chapter\" before moving on. Moments like that show me how impactful these resources are.\r\nYour support has made reading come alive in my classroom, and I'm so thankful for the joy and confidence you've helped spark in my students.","fullyFundedDate":1744226382330,"projectUrl":"project/class-set-of-chapter-books/9190816/","projectTitle":"Class Set of Chapter Books","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Yanez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9566972_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729488331633","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9566972"},{"teacherId":8433084,"projectId":8791583,"letterContent":"My students enjoyed the items donated through the financial literacy project. Because of you, my students now have access to an incredible tool that encourages creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking every single day.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment the LEGO sets arrived, the excitement in our classroom was electric. Students dove right in—building imaginative worlds, designing vehicles, and even working together to solve engineering challenges. For many of them, this was their first time using LEGOs in a structured learning environment, and the results have been inspiring.\r\n\r\nThe LEGOs have quickly become a favorite part of our learning centers. They're not just building blocks—they're building confidence, fine motor skills, and problem-solving abilities. I've seen quieter students come out of their shells during cooperative building activities, and others proudly explain the logic behind their creations.\r\n\r\nWhether we're using them in math for counting and patterns, in science for simple machines, or just to let imaginations soar, your contribution has made a lasting difference. You've helped us create a classroom environment where learning is hands-on, joyful, and full of possibility.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and investing in their growth. We are learning about American Symbols and are using an app to read and take notes for our writing assignments. Most importantly, we use our iPads to take our online math testing. \r\n The headphones that you generously donated are noise canceling. This helps so much in helping us to focus on our work! It is all hands on, which makes it so much more meaningful.\r\nIt has also been exciting to see the students that had not yet advanced to this stage, work hard to reach the level of coding where they can start working on the LEGO sets. All my students were very excited about my project getting funded and even more excited to see and play with the new PE equipment. I have really appreciated the colored cones which I use daily with my lessons. I can wholeheartedly say that the PE equipment I received from DonorsChoose has made a significant impact on our school's PE program and let me tell you why. First of all, all the new equipment has been working out perfectly with all my PE lessons with my 14 classes. (over 350 students!) For example, the scoreboards were a big hit last week when the 5th grade classes played a basketball scrimmage game and it helped them keep track of their team's score. Secondly, this is the first year that TK and Kindergarten started receiving PE instruction at our school. Therefore, the smaller size soccer balls, footballs, playground balls, scooter boards, stepping stone buckets, and activity dice were a perfect fit for their smaller size hands and bodies. Thirdly and finally, it provided not only extra motivation and fun, but also much needed PE equipment to meet their specific needs.
