I read stories of how to be kind, deal with feelings, learn how to speak up for their needs in a dignified way and other life skills. We are able to have grade level appropriate conversations that are guided by the books I purchased with your kind donation. Students are able to see pictures and relate to characters that help them connect with the social skills concept being taught. \r\n\r\nI am always humbled by the generosity of people who are so willing to support classrooms that are full of future leaders of our world. The books and materials you helped provide have made a lasting impact on my students. Each morning, we begin our day with a class meeting, and your donated books have become a key part of that time together. We've used these texts to guide meaningful conversations about friendship, perseverance, emotions, and community. Through social stories and shared reading, students are learning how to reflect on their feelings, listen to others, and express themselves with kindness. It has created a calm and welcoming tone that carries through the rest of our day.\r\n\r\nIn addition to our reading, the weaving supplies were a huge hit! As we explored Utah history, students had the chance to connect more deeply with the past by creating their own potholders—just like early settlers and pioneers might have done. It was incredible to see their pride in their creations and hear them talk about how weaving helped families survive and build their homes. Students who typically struggle to engage in traditional lessons were focused, confident, and excited to share what they'd made. The hands-on experience made history come alive and helped all of us build a stronger sense of place and identity.\r\n\r\nYour kindness made all of this possible.
