What started as a simple cart quickly grew into a space where they could take ownership, learn responsibility, and engage with their peers and staff in meaningful ways. I still remember the very first morning we rolled it out. Students eagerly stood behind the cart, carefully preparing orders and practicing greetings with big smiles. The pride on their faces was unforgettable.\r\nOver time, the cart became more than just about serving coffee. It turned into a classroom in motion, teaching real-world skills like money management, communication, teamwork, and problem solving. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who was usually shy step forward to take orders with confidence. The joy he felt in that moment carried into other parts of his learning, and it was incredible to see how much he grew.\r\nAlthough this project began two years ago, its impact is still felt today. The skills learned through the coffee cart continue to shape how our students approach challenges, build independence, and connect with others. The next steps for them include carrying these lessons into new school projects, job training opportunities, and everyday interactions that prepare them for life after school. Your generosity made all of this possible, and we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1691027689651,"projectUrl":"project/beans-dreams-coffee-cart-empowering-s/7472205/","projectTitle":"Beans & Dreams Coffee Cart: Empowering Special Education Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Acevedo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8536876_orig.jpg?crop=827,827,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1688097268201","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8536876"},{"teacherId":7236587,"projectId":8840750,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous support of our sensory support project. Because of you, our classroom has been transformed into a more inclusive, engaging, and joyful place of learning for my K–5 special education students.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful additions has been the Bouncyband Wiggle Wobble Chair Feet. The moment my students saw these on their chairs, they were intrigued and eager to try them out. Now, they absolutely love them! These simple yet powerful tools have made a tremendous difference—allowing my students to get the movement they need while staying focused and fully engaged in their learning. It's been inspiring to see how much more involved and confident they've become during classroom activities.\r\n\r\nAs a social/communication special education teacher, my mission has always been to create a classroom environment where every child feels supported, empowered, and excited to learn. Thanks to your donation, we're now better equipped to meet the diverse sensory needs of our students. These discreet, flexible seating supports not only help with emotional regulation and focus, but they also promote a sense of independence and comfort that is essential for academic and social growth.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is helping us build a space where students can truly thrive.
