We just finished up our first concert cycle at Harrison High School, and I'm happy to say it was a big success, all with the help of your generous gift to facilitate learning in the classroom.\r\n\r\nI use the rainbow ribbons in the classroom for a Scale Karate, in which students submit recordings of their scales, and upon successful completion, earn a ribbon to tie to their instrument cases. This has been a big hit in motivating students to practice their scales, which in turn improves their execution of their concert repertoire. Beyond ribbons, students love earning stickers as rewards, no matter what grade they are in!\r\n\r\nBest of all, the music pencils and notecards were a big hit! They students were touched by the personalized notes, and it built a lot of good chemistry in the band. Furthermore, many students carry their pencils in their folders to mark reminders in their music, which builds responsibility.","fullyFundedDate":1752586412671,"projectUrl":"project/people-first-in-the-music-classroom/9439160/","projectTitle":"People First in the Music Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Traverse","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10066900_orig.png?crop=609,609,x10,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751214999848","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10066900"},{"teacherId":1160609,"projectId":9225656,"letterContent":"Thanks for providing the funds for those science books.
