The new wobble stools and table have completely transformed how we learn together each day. My students use these flexible seating options during morning work, collaborative projects, and independent reading. The stools allow for movement while staying focused, and the larger table has quickly become a favorite space for small group lessons and partner work. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of students eagerly gather around the new table to collaborate on a writing piece—they were sharing ideas, leaning in, and truly buzzing with energy and focus.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first walked in and saw the new seating, their faces said it all—wide eyes, huge smiles, and lots of \"Can I try that one?\" They immediately began exploring which seats helped them focus best. Some students who typically struggled to stay engaged are now choosing spots where they can move just enough to stay on task, while others love the sense of independence the seating options provide. The shift has been amazing to watch—not just in comfort, but in confidence and ownership of learning.\r\n\r\nWe're currently working on collaborative STEM and writing projects, and these flexible seating choices are making teamwork more natural and enjoyable. The next step for my students is to reflect on which seating helps them learn best and why—developing self-awareness as learners is a huge part of our classroom goals this year.\r\n\r\nThanks to Ripple's support, I was able to design a learning space that truly meets my students' needs. These materials have directly impacted focus, participation, and student choice. I've been able to facilitate more small-group instruction, use movement as a regulation tool, and give students an environment where learning feels active and inclusive. Ripple's contribution made this vision possible—and the difference is evident in our daily classroom energy and student engagement.\r\n\r\nWith gratitude,\r\nMelissa Kershaw\r\nWest Running Brook Intermediate School","fullyFundedDate":1746787330861,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-all/9317401/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for All","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kershaw","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7168577_orig.jpg?crop=300,300,x1085,y273&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1660168065572","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7168577"},{"teacherId":9985099,"projectId":9214033,"letterContent":"The gifts you provided for our classroom have been used in many different ways to help students engage in learning. For many, having a quick, nutritious snack during the day helps them stay engaged, energized, and ready to tackle the challenges of learning.
