We've already begun using the butterfly grow kit, science visuals, plant life cycle models, soil, and science toys to launch a hands-on exploration of life cycles. Their curiosity has been overflowing, and these materials made it possible for them to learn in such an engaging, authentic way.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, the room erupted with \"oohs\" and \"wows.\" They were especially thrilled about the butterfly kit—several students immediately started sharing stories about butterflies they've seen and asking when we'd get to watch the transformation happen. Their enthusiasm made it clear how meaningful these resources are to them.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are just as exciting. Students will observe the caterpillars' growth, create detailed diagrams using the new science visuals, and compare what they see in the habitat to the plant life cycle models. Soon, we'll begin planting seeds using the soil you provided, allowing students to make real-time comparisons between animal and plant life cycles. They are already asking thoughtful scientific questions and preparing to document every stage.\r\n\r\nYour contribution didn't just provide supplies—it created opportunities for hands-on discovery, patience, and wonder. Thank you for giving my students the chance to learn science in a way that feels real, memorable, and magical.","fullyFundedDate":1757535539760,"projectUrl":"project/engaging-stem-experiences/9577434/","projectTitle":"Engaging STEM Experiences","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ferguson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10170112_orig.jpg?crop=1170,1170,x1570,y2013&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756334118972","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10170112"},{"teacherId":530099,"projectId":9245280,"letterContent":"I wish you could have seen the excitement on my students' faces when I started to unbox the delivery of books we received thanks to your generosity. Seeing kids excited about books is something that brings me so much joy.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular was especially excited. There was a series that he had been wanting to read, and it just so happened that they were in the box! His face lit up with the biggest smile. He couldn't decide which book to choose first.\r\n\r\nThis is the impact you make. This is what you don't get to see. This year has been no different. However, thanks to your generosity, the number of illnesses in my classroom has been minimal. \r\n\r\nLittle hands tend to touch everything. The Lysol cleaning wipes have been an amazing help in keeping the surfaces of our classrooms clean. From doorknobs to tabletops and counters to ipads, the Lysol cleaning wipes take on all surfaces to make sure germs are kept at bay. \r\n\r\nLittle hands also end up in mouths. The hand sanitizer has been so helpful in between visits to the sink to wash our hands. By having hand sanitizer (or \"hanitizer\" as my 7 year-olds call it) at the ready, we are able to keep our hands clean and germ-free.\r\n\r\nThe tissues have been a true nose-saver. If you've never experienced a low-bid tissue before, let me share that it is like rubbing sandpaper over your nose. The Kleenex tissues have been so helpful in keeping our noses clean, and also being soft against our skin.\r\n\r\nWhile these basics may sound silly to some, for us they have been truly helpful and have made this \"cold season\" much more manageable.","fullyFundedDate":1733186157323,"projectUrl":"project/so-long-sniffles/8651615/","projectTitle":"So Long, Sniffles!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rambo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp530099_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565142435624","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/k-rambo"},{"teacherId":530099,"projectId":8649297,"letterContent":"It isn't always easy to get kids excited about reading independently. However, thanks to your generous donation, I can tell you that my kids can't wait for Fridays. In our classroom, we have \"Flashlight Friday.\" What that means is that we turn out the lights, find a special spot to sit, and read our books by flashlight. \"This is the best!\" and \"I love Flashlight Friday!\" are two comments I heard most recently. This wouldn't be possible without the support of donors like you.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the flashlights, we were able to get quite a few new books as well! The excitement on my students faces as I showed each book was priceless. They love having new books from which to choose. They love reading about characters to whom they can relate.
