The printer allows me to make quick adjustments for students who need extra practice or enrichment, helping everyone stay engaged and confident in their work.\r\n\r\nThe printer has also sparked creativity and ownership in my students. While at first it might seem like a simple piece of furniture, I can tell you with complete sincerity that it has become one of the most transformative tools in our learning environment. The impact on my students' confidence, participation, and leadership skills has been remarkable, and it is all thanks to your support.\r\n\r\nBefore we had the podium, many of my students struggled with speaking in front of their classmates. Even the bravest among them would fidget, look down, or speak so softly that it was difficult to hear them. Public speaking can feel intimidating at any age, but especially for young learners who are still developing their sense of identity and self-assurance. I knew my students had wonderful ideas and valuable voices, but too often those voices were hidden by nerves and self-doubt.\r\n\r\nThe day we introduced the podium to the classroom, everything began to change. Suddenly, standing up to speak felt different. It wasn't just \"going to the front of the room\"—it was stepping into a place of importance. The podium gave students a designated space that felt special, a place that signaled to them and to their peers that what they had to say truly mattered.\r\n\r\nI quickly noticed that even my quietest students carried themselves differently behind the podium. They stood a little taller, projected their voices a little louder, and made more eye contact with their classmates. For many of them, having a surface to rest their papers or notes reduced the nervousness of not knowing what to do with their hands. That simple support opened the door for their confidence to grow.\r\n\r\nOver the past weeks, I have witnessed transformations that fill me with pride and gratitude. Students who once refused to present in front of the class are now volunteering to share. Children who used to whisper now speak clearly and with excitement. One student told me, \"When I stand at the podium, I feel important.\" Another said it made them feel like \"the teacher.\" Those small but powerful feelings are exactly what fuel confidence and leadership skills that will carry into every part of their lives.\r\n\r\nThe podium has also helped cultivate a culture of respect in our classroom. When a student stands behind it, their peers recognize that this is their time to be heard. They listen more attentively and treat the speaker with greater care. This has reinforced for every child that their voice has value, and it has strengthened the sense of community we are building together.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given my students more than a podium—it has given them courage. It has given them the chance to practice leadership, to take pride in their voices, and to feel a sense of belonging and importance in the classroom. These are lessons and experiences that go far beyond academics, shaping the way they see themselves and the roles they can play in the world.\r\n\r\nThank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making this possible. Because of you, my students are not just learning—they are growing into confident young leaders.","fullyFundedDate":1752074256859,"projectUrl":"project/building-confident-student-voices/9442181/","projectTitle":"Building Confident Student Voices","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wheat","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10040805"},{"teacherId":10188168,"projectId":9622484,"letterContent":"We can't thank you enough for your generous donation of headphones to our first grade classroom. What may seem like a simple item has made a huge difference in the learning experience for our young students.\r\n\r\nWith these headphones, our children are now able to engage more deeply with digital learning tools without distractions. Whether they're practicing phonics, exploring math games, or listening to stories being read aloud, each student can now focus in their own personal learning space. This has helped us meet students where they are—whether they need a little extra support or are ready to be challenged further.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also created a calmer, more productive classroom environment. With reduced noise and fewer distractions, students are more engaged, more confident, and more excited about learning.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has directly supported not just their education, but their joy in learning.
