For many students, these supplies opened the door to a space where they feel relaxed and present as they learn this new skill. The crochet club has become a place where students can slow down, use their hands and enjoy learning something new without the pressure that often comes with the school day.\r\n\r\nHaving enough supplies for everyone made the club accessible to all students. Without school provided materials, crochet would only be an option for students who already have resources at home. By providing supplies, we removed that barrier. Any student who was curious could participate, regardless of experience or background. \r\n\r\nThe crochet supplies also helped create a strong sense of community. Friendships form across grade levels, and the club feels welcoming and safe. Providing crochet supplies did more than support a hobby. It showed students that their school values their mental health and creativity and that message has made a lasting difference.\r\n\r\nTYSM <3","fullyFundedDate":1769300914243,"projectUrl":"project/crochet-club/9890719/","projectTitle":"Crochet Club","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mendoza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8424040_orig.jpg?crop=1170,1170,x0,y487&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1688064479166","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msgabimendoza"},{"teacherId":7624182,"projectId":9374579,"letterContent":"I want to sincerely thank you for your generous donations to our classroom. Your contributions—candy for motivation, air fresheners to keep our space welcoming, and markers for collaboration—are making a meaningful difference every single day.\r\n\r\nThe candy helps encourage students to stay focused and push through challenges with a little extra boost of motivation. The air fresheners create a pleasant, comfortable environment that students enjoy walking into each day, and the markers allow them to work together creatively during group activities. These items may seem small, but they help create an atmosphere where students feel supported, engaged, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nYour kindness not only supplies the materials we need, but also sends a message to my students that their education matters and that their community cares about their success. Because of your kindness, our classroom library has transformed into a place where reluctant readers have become enthusiastic book lovers.\r\n\r\nThis year, I watched students fall in love with stories, characters, and genres they never expected to enjoy. Nearly every student reported reading more this year than they have in years—something I never get tired of hearing.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular, Elaina, told me at the beginning of the year that she hated me because I made the class read for 15 minutes every day. But your donation helped me prove her wrong in the best way. She discovered a love for suspense through Panic and found herself swept up in romance while reading The Summer I Turned Pretty. By the end of the year, she had not only changed her mind about reading—she was asking for more. She even got her first library card so she could keep reading the series over the summer. That is the power of access to the right books.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible.
