When I opened the boxes filled with stickers, fidget tools, small toys, colorful pens, bracelets, and all the little treasures that mean so much to children, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with appreciation. Your kindness has brought joy, excitement, and motivation into a classroom full of students who work so hard and deserve moments of celebration.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, we put a lot of emphasis on effort, growth, kindness, and perseverance. My students come from many different backgrounds, and while they all share a desire to be successful, not all of them have access to the small \"extras\" that can make school feel magical. Your donation allows me to celebrate students in ways that feel tangible and special—ways that show them that their hard work matters, that their kindness is noticed, and that their achievements are worth honoring.\r\n\r\nWhen I introduced our new reward system and shared the items you helped provide, the room lit up. Students whispered excitedly to each other, wide-eyed at the choices. Some quietly picked up an item that reminded them of home, while others were drawn to bright colors and silly toys that made them laugh. These moments of joy are priceless. They help build community. They help students feel valued. And they help create a classroom environment where children want to grow, take risks, and believe in themselves.\r\n\r\nBut your generosity does more than help with motivation—it gives many of my students a sense of belonging. For some of them, earning a small reward isn't just fun; it's a reminder that someone notices their effort. It's a symbol of pride they can hold, share, or take home to show a family member. These moments build confidence. They strengthen relationships. They remind students that their actions matter not only to me but to others who care about their success.\r\n\r\nYou have played a meaningful role in shaping these experiences. Your willingness to support my students—students you've never met—says so much about your compassion and belief in the power of education. Donors like you remind us that the world is full of people who care deeply about helping children learn, grow, and thrive. It is because of your kindness that I am able to create a positive and encouraging environment where my students feel motivated and celebrated.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your donation will continue to make a difference throughout the entire school year. Each time a child earns a reward, smiles proudly, or excitedly shares their prize with a friend, your generosity will be part of that moment. You have brought so much joy into our classroom, and for that, my students and I are endlessly grateful.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in us. Thank you for supporting our classroom dreams. And thank you for choosing to make a difference in the lives of children who will remember these moments for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1757683119484,"projectUrl":"project/student-rewards/9645203/","projectTitle":"Student Rewards","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10071590_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751830289900","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/westtigers"},{"teacherId":10071590,"projectId":9608921,"letterContent":"I want to begin this letter by saying something simple but deeply meant: thank you. When I launched our DonorsChoose project, I hoped that someone out there might see the needs of my students and feel moved to help—but I could never have anticipated the incredible generosity you have shown. Opening those boxes filled with deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other hygiene essentials was an experience I will never forget. It was more than just unboxing supplies; it was witnessing a real, tangible act of kindness that will change the daily lives of so many young people.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, I see students who show up every day carrying quiet burdens most adults would struggle to manage. Some come from households where resources are stretched thin; others move between living situations and have little consistency in their personal belongings. For many of them, even basic hygiene items aren't always accessible. When a student worries about how they smell, whether they look clean, or if someone will tease them because of something entirely out of their control, it becomes incredibly hard for them to focus on learning. It becomes hard for them to feel confident, safe, or seen.\r\n\r\nYour donation does far more than provide deodorant or a toothbrush. It gives students dignity. It gives them a sense of agency in caring for themselves. It helps level the playing field so that they can walk into the classroom feeling a little lighter, a little more comfortable, and a lot more valued. These are items that will quietly but powerfully change their daily routines—items that will help them feel refreshed in the morning, comfortable during the school day, and confident interacting with their peers.\r\n\r\nWhen I showed students where to find supplies that they might need, the reactions were genuine and touching. Some students were surprised that the items were really theirs to keep. Others smiled shyly as they selected what they needed most. A few even whispered thank-you messages, not just to me, but to \"whoever gave us these.\" Those moments might sound small, but they are the moments that shape a child's sense of being cared for. They are the moments that remind them that there are people beyond their immediate circle who believe in them and want to support their success.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, it is incredibly moving to know that our classroom is supported not just by me or our school community, but by individuals—people like you—who took the time to read about our needs and choose to do something meaningful. Your generosity reminds me why I chose this profession: because even in a world that often feels overwhelming, there are always people willing to step up and help.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your contribution has a ripple effect. Students who feel supported emotionally and physically are more willing to participate, more willing to try, and more able to concentrate. You have helped remove barriers that, while invisible to many, weigh heavily on a child's ability to learn and thrive.\r\n\r\nThank you for choosing to invest in my students. Thank you for believing that their comfort and confidence matter. And thank you for being the kind of people who turn compassion into action. Your kindness has made a lasting impact on our classroom, and it is something my students and I will carry with us for a very long time.","fullyFundedDate":1757683134146,"projectUrl":"project/student-personal-supplies/9608921/","projectTitle":"Student Personal Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10071590_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751830289900","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/westtigers"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134267","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":null,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":false,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":null,"schoolId":134267,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about West Intermediate School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"West Intermediate School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/tomball-independent-school-district/west-intermediate-school/134267"}
