Previously, I've done only whole class novels...but inevitably with that, some of the students end up not being excited about the book we're reading. This year, I decided that in addition to SOME whole class novels, we would also try to do a couple different book club-style literature circles. This way, students can choose a book that they are interested in reading!\r\n\r\nI literally finished reading this book myself, set it down, and sent a text to another English teacher friend telling her that I HAD to get some copies for my AP class! Colorful paper also helps when we're doing different stations or different groups--it's so much easier to say \"take out the pink paper\" or \"go to the purple station next\" than it is to try to describe what's on the paper or explain how to rotate to the next station.
