Each class now gets dedicated time in the makerspace once a week, and students are eagerly looking forward to these sessions. They are using the materials to design, build, tinker and collaborate with friends in ways that allow creativity and problem solving to shine. The room is filled with conversation, experimentation and excitement as students test ideas and learn form one another. \r\n\r\nWhen students first walked into the makerspace and saw the materials, their reactions said it all big smiles and an immediate urge to start creating. Many students jumped right into designing structures, experimenting with materials and working together to bring their ideas to life. For some, this has been a powerful opportunity to explore hands-on learning and see themselves as innovators and designers. \r\n\r\nAs we continue to use the makerspace students will build on these experiences by taking on more complex design challenges, reflecting on their work and collaborating more intentionally with peers. These opportunities are helping students grow not only in creativity and innovation, but also in confidence, teamwork and perseverance.
