The students were so excited to receive these items for our classroom. They realize they are something special just for them. \r\n\r\nThe cushions are being used for flexible seating around the classroom when the students are completing independent work. They can also use them in our very popular Thomas The Tank Engine area. There is a rotating schedule where students can relax and take a break in a quiet, comfy space set up with the cushions.\r\n \r\nThe colored stools are fantastic and are being used for a small group instruction. They are color coordinated with a workspace at the \"teacher table.\" The students can also use them to work in small groups. They are learning independence and collaboration when using the stools. We are so happy to have our new tables! The kids love them and they are just the right size for them. The legs are sealed with rubber at the bottom which keeps the tables from sliding when they sit or do work.\r\n I've had other projects but this project was so h ed module for us. This year our classroom grew by eight children and while there were other tables in the building, they were either made for older kids or quite old and had areas where kids could get splinters. These tables have great medal legs and wonderful thick plastic tops so there will never be a chance of splintering. They love the movement chair this has provided additional support for students to sit. It has also worked on important early skills such as turn taking.
