When the binders arrived, my students were excited to receive their own materials. Many had never owned a new binder before, and their faces lit up as they personalized them with pride. This simple gesture created a sense of ownership that positively impacted their attitude toward learning.\r\n\r\nWe used the binders to organize our science interactive notebooks, MAAP-aligned study guides, and weekly review packets. During our unit on heredity and reproduction, students tracked their progress on each learning target and reflected on their growth. One student remarked, \"This binder helped me stay on track—I finally felt like I wasn't behind.\" The added structure allowed for smoother transitions between lessons and helped improve student focus and confidence.\r\n\r\nAs we moved into our final projects, the binders served as personal portfolios for students to showcase their understanding in a culminating genetics assignment. Your support gave my students the tools they needed to succeed—and for that, I sincerely thank you.\r\n\r\nWarm regards,\r\nMr. Ian Matthews Ed.S. \r\nWest Bolivar High School","fullyFundedDate":1720054523297,"projectUrl":"project/binders-for-brilliance-empowering-stud/8427322/","projectTitle":"\"Binders for Brilliance: Empowering Student Success\"","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Matthews","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8537306_orig.jpg?crop=3712,3712,x0,y86&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716863803553","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8537306"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_18568","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":238,"numTeachers":13,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":95,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"18.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":48.3,"schoolId":18568,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about West Bolivar High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"West Bolivar High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/mississippi/west-bolivar-consolidated-school-district/west-bolivar-middle-school/18568"}
