My students learned so much using these books! In 3rd, 4th and 5th grades we used the book \"Windows\" by Julia Denos to create buildings with bright windows against a dark background. They learned about how so much of our world around us is made up of geometric shapes. They also explored how lines can create texture and provide details to many aspects of their artworks. \r\n\r\nIn Kinder, 1st and 2nd grades we used the book \"Mr. Tiger Goes Wild\" by Peter Brown to create Mr. Tiger using geometric shapes that they learn about in Math and Science. They also learned about organic shapes as those found in nature. We learned a new vocabulary word Dimension and Value to create leaves that looked like the sunshine was causing the leaf to cast a shadow on itself.\r\n\r\nWithout your care and support none of these great learning experiences would have been possible.","fullyFundedDate":1757683062402,"projectUrl":"project/seeing-shapes-and-patterns/9588490/","projectTitle":"Seeing Shapes and Patterns","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Napolitano-Kraxberger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp117025_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1624899939876","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/napolitanokraxberger"},{"teacherId":117025,"projectId":9324756,"letterContent":"Oh my! It was heartwarming to see their eyes light up as they discovered the fun in reading and realized that books can take them anywhere.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, many of my students who once felt discouraged by reading now feel proud and motivated to try.
