Each morning, we randomly draw 5 \"lucky ducks\" who get to choose a light option to have at their seat. They have to stay focused, and they can't play with the light. Students have commented that they enjoy the way the classroom looks, and they like having the choice on which lighting option they use. They are also working to be responsible by making sure it is plugged in at night so it can be enjoyed again the next day. \r\n\r\nThe large dartboards have increased participation. Students are working for a chance to earn a throw, and sometimes it is just for the bragging rights of having the best throw. Sometimes we create groups and also practice our adding skills as we add the points earned from each throw for each group to find which group had a higher score. Students are more engaged in answering questions, so they have the chance to throw! \r\n\r\nThanks for helping us add these items to our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1758636596984,"projectUrl":"project/engaging-calming/9661924/","projectTitle":"Engaging & Calming","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp973269_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472851942254","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/973269"},{"teacherId":973269,"projectId":9594916,"letterContent":"Thank you for providing our classroom with these additional items! The animal erasers are probably the biggest hit, though all the items have been \"oohed\" and \"aahed\" over. \r\n\r\nThe worry stones and sensory stones have gone into our calm down kit. If someone is feeling strong emotions, they can take a moment and use the items in the bin to help regulate their emotions. I showed the class the different stones and we discussed how it can help regulate our body. Some students really like how they feel and choose to pull them out and rub them. Most students are finding they don't need the calm down kit at this time to help them regulate their emotions, which is also wonderful.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for supporting our classroom with these additional items.","fullyFundedDate":1755891678121,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-incentives/9594916/","projectTitle":"Classroom Incentives","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp973269_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472851942254","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/973269"},{"teacherId":973269,"projectId":9338447,"letterContent":"Thank you for helping our classroom get a refresh for this new year. Some days we keep the overhead lights off. Because of different lighting options in the room, we are able to continue work and still have light! Students are showing responsibility by making sure the lamps are plugged in at the end of the day and then spread out during the day to their different locations. \r\n\r\nThank you for making our classroom an enjoyable place to be for a few more reasons.","fullyFundedDate":1749822551492,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-refresh/9338447/","projectTitle":"Classroom Refresh","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp973269_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472851942254","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/973269"},{"teacherId":973269,"projectId":9135680,"letterContent":"Thank you again for choosing to sponsor this classroom. Students enjoy reading with a flashlight on a weekly basis. Our other flashlights were getting older and some were now broken. Many students tried them out the first few days. They enjoyed the different types and various colors. Now that we have been using them for a few weeks, only a few have continued to use this resource. It is nice that it is something that can be offered though for students to try. \r\n\r\nJust today a student was commenting on their handwriting. I was able to suggest they try a pencil grip, and the student was excited to find one in their favorite color. Time will tell if this helps them in the long run, but for today it encouraged them!
