In a district with over 75% of students from low income families, these essentials are a much needed relief and comfort to our students. \r\n\r\nAs the weather warms up students are taking advantage of the deodorant, body wipes, soap and laundry detergent. The machine has become vitally important as the economic issues continue to strain households budgets. \r\n\r\nAn unexpected outcome of the hygiene machine supplies is the increased sense of community developing. We have students offering to help restock the machine, care for it, and promote its proper use. Many students have enjoyed and benefited from the new products in the machine. As the weather warms up and the economy cools down the demand on the machine for basics like deodorant, feminine products and laundry detergent has surged.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the machine has provided community building activities and community service hours as students help staff refill the machine and care for its upkeep.
